TWO men raped a woman as she walked alone in a Hendon park at the weekend.

The 22-year-old was dragged to a secluded part of Sunny Hill Park where the attack took place between 11pm and midnight on Friday.

Two women and a man came to the victim's rescue as she tried to leave the park, in Sunningfields Road, and took her home.

The next day, the woman contacted Barnet Police who are appealing for the public to help catch the two rapists. They are in their mid to late 20s, possibly of Asian origin, and both spoke with English accents.

Acting Detective Inspector Neil Rawlinson, said: “"This was an attack on a lone female and we need the help of the public to identify these offenders.

"It is highly possible that the two men may have been apart prior to or after the attack and may have appeared to be alone.

"I'm appealing to anyone who was in the area or who recognises either of the suspects from their description to please come forward.”

The first suspect has short black hair, and wore a blue t-shirt and light blue jeans.

The second man has short spiky hair, a noticeable thin growth of hair on his jawline and wore a white
t-shirt.

Police would also like to speak to the three people who helped the victim and to an elderly man out walking his dog who spoke to the woman prior to the attack.

Police have stepped up patrols in the park following the rape and are urging women to avoid poorly lit and secluded areas when walking alone in the area.
