A MOTHER from Mill Hill has written a book to help parents and pupils survive the secondary school selection process.
Primary school teacher Katie Krais will be signing copies of "Teach Yourself: Getting Your Child Into Secondary School", published by Hodder Education, at 12pm on Saturday.
She will also offer advice and support to parents at the signing, which will take place at Borders, in Waterfields Retail park, Watford.
Mrs Krais, 41, from Flower Lane, wrote the book to help parents during "one of the most stressful and overwhelming periods of their lives".
She is keen for parents to read her book before October 23 - the deadline for parents to submit their secondary school prefences to Barnet Council.
She added: "The secondary school transfer is a very difficult time and parents need to know what the rules are and what they need to do.
"Should you tutor? Should you go to a state selective? There are many questions parents need to ask themselves."
