THE decision on whether to suspend Barnet Council's own rules to allow an “unprecedented” two-night planning meeting on the Brent Cross Cricklewood development is expected tonight.
Councillors are expected to agree to suspending the standing orders to allow the extended meeting on the £4.5bn project, which is scheduled for November 18 and 19.
Other items to be discussed at tonight's full council meeting include clarifying the borough boundaries around Cricklewood Broadway, which falls under Barnet, Brent and Camden and improving London Overground services to the east of the borough.
Other business includes brining Stanley Road playing fields in East Finchley back into community use and a motion by opposition councillors condemning planned fare hikes on public transport.
Plans to encourage schools to include “generic” items of clothing in their school uniform policies to make them more affordable to parents and publish council spending over £500 will also be debated.
The meeting is held from 7pm in Hendon Town Hall, The Burroughs.
