A MAN from Potters Bar has been arrested following a “serious” road collision that left a Barnet cyclist with possible brain injuries.
The crash happened yesterday at about 7.15pm on the A1000 Great North Road, close to the junction with Wagon Road.
Hertfordshire police said they were called to reports a red Land Rover had collided with a cyclist.
Ambulance crews and police officers attended the scene and found a 53-year-old cyclist from Barnet with serious injuries. The man was taken to Barnet General Hospital before being transferred to a specialist neurology hospital in London, where police said he is “in a serious condition”.
A police statement also confirmed a 63-year-old man from Potters Bar has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Investigating officer, PC Bob Hauxwell, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and may have seen the cyclist before the collision took place to get in contact with police as soon as possible.
“I would also be interested to speak to anyone who may have seen the Land Rover described in the area either before or after the collision.”
