A TEENAGER has been charged in connection with an attack on a guide dog in an underpass at Cricklewood station in October.
The brown Labrador called Neela needed treatment to deep puncture wounds on its neck after the attack by a terrier type dog on October 4. The dog's 57-year-old blind owner was left shaken by the attack.
An 18-year-old man from Gospel Oak was charged with offences under the Dangerous Dogs and Animal Welfare Act, although police are appealing for information as to the whereabouts of his dog.
Detective Constable Gerry Griffin said: “We believe that the dog has been passed on to a third party and our enquiries to locate it are ongoing.
“Dangerous dogs pose obvious safety risks to the public and we would encourage anyone who knows the whereabouts of this animal to come forward and contact us with information.”
Anyone with information can contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
