PARKING charges are due to be brought in at the Royal Air Force museum to help pay for running costs.
Visitors to the site, in Grahame Park Way, will be charged up to £3.50 to park, from April 1.
In a statement, museum bosses said: “The income generated will be used to assist in meeting the costs of maintaining the Museum’s national collection and of operating its sites.”
It will cost £2.50 to park for up to three hours and £3.50 for three-six hours parking.
Entry to the museum, which houses a collection of 100 aircraft in five hangers and is world renowned for documenting the history of aviation, will remain free.
People not wanting to pay the parking fee will be able to use the Tube and buses from Colindale station to visit the museum, which is open daily between 10am and 6pm.
