A REWARD has been offered for the return of a "precious" ornamental eagle stolen in Barnet.

The fibreglass bird was taken from the garden of a home in Bentley Heath Lane, last month.

Now police have released a photograph of the ornament, in the hope of tracing where it has gone.

The ornamental eagle, which was stolen between 6pm on Wednesday, February 17 and 2.30pm Thursday, February 18, is made of fibreglass with a bronze finish and is mounted on Portland stone.

The eagle is also approximately 60cm in height and 91cm wide.

Investigating officer PC Graham Hiscock from Potters Bar police said: “The owner of the eagle has said she is prepared to offer a reward to anyone who can provide information which will lead to its safe return.

"The eagle was very precious to her and I would urge anyone who has been offered the eagle for sale, or knows of its whereabouts to get in touch.

“I would also be interested to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the theft take place or saw any suspicious behaviour in the area during the stated times.”
