Arsenal ladies smashed Chelsea for six in a one-sided game at Meadow Park on Sunday to go second in the table.

The defending Premier League champions were 4-0 up within 15 minutes of the start, with two goals from England's Kelly Smith and one each from Julie Fleeting and Rachel McArthur.

Chelsea must have been wondering what had hit them but Arsenal kept up the pressure after the break and forced an own-goal from Nicky Delesalle before Lianne Sanderson made it six.

The win took Arsenal up to second in the table above Everton and six points behind league leaders Charlton, with two games in hand.

The ladies' next match is the League Cup semi-final clash away at Everton on Sunday.
