MAYOR Sir Robin Wales has won his battle to have a say on organising the 2012 Olympics.
Eyebrows were raised when Sir Robin was not included on the interim board of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) when it was announced in September.
The Guardian understands Sir Robin has now accepted a position on the board with a fornal announcement to be made in February.
A well-placed source said Sir Robin's inclusion had been formalised and he had already attended a board meeting as a member.
Sir Robin, who is up for re-election in May, has promised to fight for the interests of local people during a time of unprecedented change in the area.
