ONE bookmaker has slashed the odds on the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Hendon seat being victorious at tomorrow's polls.

At the start of the General Election campaign Matthew Harris was at 100/1 to take the seat, seen by many as a Labour/Tory marginal, but Betfair have brought the odds down to 25/1 for him.

He said: ““It’s still a long shot, but Betfair’s slashing of the odds reflects the big rise in Lib Dem support that I have seen in Hendon.

“With the Lib Dems remaining strong in the national polls, there is everything to play for here in Hendon.”

Conservative Matthew Offord remains the odds-on favourite to wrest the seat from Labour at 1/9, but Andrew Dismore the Labour candidate is quoted at 5/1 by the same bookmaker.
