MORE information will be provided to the Mayor of London's Office over a community development in East Barnet after doubts were cast over the future of the project.
Last week the Mayor's office sent a letter to Barnet Council saying the joint plans with NHS Barnet for a community hub, including health centre and library in Brunswick Park did not meet the London plan.
The letter said the council did not provide a good enough reason for why the new centre should be built over a large section of Brunswick Park in Osidge Lane.
If Barnet Council pass the plans they will be referred to the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, who has the power to instruct the council to reject them.
However, councillor Richard Cornelius, in charge of planning, said: “Barnet Council and NHS Barnet are working with Boris Johnson`s office to sort the details required to get this new clinic, library and community hub given a "yes" from the Mayor."
Many residents are opposed to the scheme fearing an increase in traffic, noise and loss of the parkland created by the scheme.
