A YOUTH worker has been released after spending nine months in prison over a robbery he did not commit.

Bol Joseph, from Islington, was arrested on November 3, 2009, for robbing an HSBC security van in Cockfosters in July.

The rising rap star, who performs by the name of Joe Black, was cleared at Blackfriars Crown Court on July 20 of conspiracy to rob and robbery after spending nine months in jail on remand.

The 24-year-old, who has a job as a youth worker in Tufnell Park and coaches football in Holloway, has performed at the Emirates Stadium and the Shepherd's Bush Empire.

His brother Yach Joseph, 26, of no fixed abode, has pleaded guilty to two charges of robbery and will be sentenced on September 17.

Yach has not been charged with the Cockfosters robbery that his younger brother was charged with.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Following a lengthy investigation, a file was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service for consideration.

"The decision of the CPS was that there was sufficient evidence to support a prosecution.

"We accept the decision of the court."
