Barnet FC's decision to invest more than £4 million in a football facility in Harrow is good news for the Bees, but a bad day for the residents of the borough of Barnet.
This money could have been ploughed into projects in the borough, benefiting schools and residents but after 12 years of negotiations between club and authority, no solution has been found, and no-one can blame Bees' chairman Tony Kleanthous for seizing the opportunity to develop the derelict site in Canons Park.
