THE SISTER of the man killed in a road crash in Golders Green early on Friday said his death has left “an unimaginable hole” in the hearts of his loved ones.
Writing into the Times Series, Rhona Pearce said her brother Janek had lived a full and entertaining life and had touched the lives of many friends across the world.
The 23-year-old had been a member of the Footsbarn Theatre, a leading touring companies which performs in circus tops and venues across the world.
He was born in Germany but left when he was two. He, his father, Rhona and his youngest brother Pascal, joined the group after his mother died when he was six.
His sister said Janek spent most of his life in England, and was studying sound design at the Central School of Speech and Drama and. She said he was doing so well he was already tutoring first years.
She added: “He has travelled, seen the world, lived more than most people do with three times the duration he had on this planet.
“He lived. He touched many hearts and lives and his loss has brought a wave of love and sorrow across the world.
“From Mongolia, to Spain, to Germany, to the US, he has left an unimaginable hole and many broken hearts, yet we'll all live and laugh twice as hard for him, for that's the only way he would have it.”
Janek, from Bayswater, west London, was crossing the A406, at the junction with Golders Green Road, with a friend at about 3am on Friday when they were hit by a car.
The driver drove off but called police later and he was arrested.
Janek was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem gave the cause of death as multiple injuries. An inquest was opened and adjourned at Barnet Coroners Court yesterday.
His friend remains in hospital in a stable condition after breaking his legs.
Messages of condolence have been left on the social networking site Facebook.
Scarlett Raven wrote on her page: “Janek Pearce we are all so lucky to have met you....and have you in our hearts forever...you make this world a better place.. I am so greatful for that..you are our role model ..you are perfect...you are true, you glow like no other..we are forever madly in love...I love you...I love your family..I love everything you ...have said....everything you have touched, I love everything about you...”
Frances 'Amber' Cooke, wrote: “I'll love you forever beautiful. Rest in soft peace.”
A 21-year-old has been bailed to return to a northwest London police station on a date in early November, pending further enquiries.
