A PEDESTRIAN was seriously injured this afternoon at Henlys Corner, just days after an £8 million safety improvement scheme was cleared.
Emergency crews were called to the area around Finchley Road, at about 3.20pm following a crash involving a 51-year-old man and a car.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to as a priority to the Royal Free Hospital, in Hampstead.
The crash is the latest in a history of incidents at the junction. About 200 road traffic collisions have been recorded on the section of road, where the A1 joins the A406 North Circular Road, in the past ten years.
On Wednesday, Transport for London announced funding had been secured to install signal controlled crossings to help improve pedestrian and cyclist safety at the junction.
