THREE under-age drinkers have been arrested after a fight in which a police officer was head butted in the face.
The officer sustained a bruised nose in the attack, which happened at about 12.25am yesterday, in Brunswick Park Road.
Police said they spotted a 17-year-old boy and a girl, 16, arguing and stopped to speak to them. They were then approached by another 16-year-old girl who was walking down the road waving a baseball bat in the air.
A statement from Barnet police said: “She was told many times to put the bat down but refused and was wrestled to the floor and eventually handcuffed and detained.”
A group of men arrived on the scene and tried to get involved, forcing officers to fend them off with CS spray and to call for backup.
The first 16-year-old then began fighting with police who had asked her to move on, and it is at that point she head butted the police officer.
She was arrested for affray and assault on police. Along with the other two, they were taken to a north London police station for questioning.
The police statement confirmed all three were drunk.
