A MOTHER had made renewed calls to reopen an investigation into her son’s death, eight years after he was killed in “mysterious” circumstances.

On Monday Erica Duggan flew to Wiesbaden in Germany to seek a meeting with the prosecutor handling her son Jeremiah’s case, but was told she was not available.

Jeremiah Duggan's body was found on a road near the town, on March 27, 2003, and although German police ruled he had died in a road traffic accident the High Court ruled last May there were suspicious circumstances around it.

The Jewish 22-year-old had become mixed up with a right wing group called La Rouche before he died.

But Mrs Duggan claims despite collating new evidence from eyewitnesses who claim to have seen Jeremiah being attacked before he died, the German authorities refuse to do anything about it.

On Monday she handed in a letter to the prosecutor urging her to look again properly at the case and meet with the family.

Another investigation by the Met Police has also stalled, along with a fresh inquest ordered after the High Court ruling.

She told the Times Series: “I can’t describe how harrowing it was to go back to Germany again. It feels like such a farce both here and in Germany.

“It’s expensive to keep flying over here to try and pursue this, I can’t afford to keep doing it or pay for my lawyers to come over. I wish someone would investigate it properly.”

“This letter points out that no medical examination of any kind took place to examine whether or not Jeremiah got his injuries from being hit or run over.”

Mrs Duggan said she now plans to take the German authorities to the European Court of Human Rights ina bid to force them into actively investigating.
