YOUNGSTERS took to the stage this week to perform an adaptation of Georges Bizet’s Carmen in East Finchley.
Around 60 members of Finchley Youth Theatre in High Road were involved in the production which opened on Monday 28 March and is set to finish tomorrow evening.
The young people aged between 13 and 19-years-old have been working on the performance since September at the centre’s own theatre which includes stage lighting and sound equipment.
Set in Seville in the 1930s, Carmen tells the story of a town and its people during the Spanish Civil War and a local girl who falls in love with a soldier.
The teenagers were able to show off skills in drama, dance and singing which they have learnt during their sessions at the theatre.
