A TEENAGER from Mill Hill was involved in a crash minutes after stealing a motorbike yesterday.
The 16-year-old stole the bike from outside a property in North Green Road in Colindale at around 4pm.
The victim, also aged 16, had lost a set of keys and was alerted by a friend that his Gilera DNA motorbike had been taken.
Shortly afterwards at around 4.10pm, the vehicle was in a collision with a red Suzuki Vitara at Bunns Lane, Mill Hill.
The female driver of the van complained of a sore shoulder but did not want ambulance assistance.
The front of the motorbike was destroyed and the vehicle was recovered to Colindale police station.
The suspect, who had no license or insurance, was seen running from the scene and was detained and arrested at around 4.50pm.
After being searched at Colindale Police Station he was further arrested for possession of cannabis, a class B drug.
No charge has been set yet.
