London Assembly members campaign over policing cuts

LABOUR London Assembly members will campaign against policing cuts at Burnt Oak tube station today.
Andrew Dismore, the Labour LA candidate for Barnet and Camden will join the protest starting at 2pm.
Mr Dismore said: “After the very worrying increase in knife attacks in the area, we need to inform people about what the Conservative led Coalition and London Mayor are up to, with cuts to come in London by 2014, of 1,907 fewer Metropolitan Police officers and 820 fewer Police Community Support Officers.
“On average every London borough like Barnet and Camden will each lose over 50 police officers, including some of the most experienced, on top of the nine sergeants already to go from our Safer Neighbourhood Teams.”
