A CHARITY is launching a series of fun activities for blind and partially sighted young people.
Over the coming months youngsters can get involved in sporting events from golfing to bowling sessions which have been organised by Action for Blind People.
Susan Wright, the charity’s head of children, young people and family services, said: “It’s really important youngsters with sight loss are given equal footing when it comes to developing their futures.
“They will be able to take part in activities they may not otherwise have access to, meet other visually impaired children and share their experiences. Our goal is to help them to build friendships, boost their confidence and increase their independence.”
The events will kick-start with an introductory golfing session at Alexandra Park School in New Southgate on Saturday September 3 from 11am to 1pm.
Available outings also include a bowling session at Hollywood Bowl in Great North Leisure Park, Finchley on Saturday September 17 from 11am to 1pm and ice skating at Alexandra Palace in Crystal Palace on Saturday October 1 from 10.30am to 12pm.
