TWO men stole a basket of meat from Tesco in Potters Bar last Thursday.

The men entered the shop in Mutton Lane at around 7.20pm on September 29.

They walked into the meat aisle and filled their baskets with food, before attempting to walk out without paying.

One of the men was challenged by a member of staff and returned the items.

He then left the shop with his accomplice and walked off in the direction of Mimms Hall Lane.

Today, police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the theft.

PC Dean Edwards, investigating from Potters Bar Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are really keen to speak to the people in the footage as they may be able to assist the investigation, or for anyone who recognises them to get in touch.

“We would also ask if anyone knows anything about the incident to please contact us.”

Anyone with information should call investigating officer PC Edwards via the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
