ELDERLY care home residents got their binoculars out for a wildlife week earlier this month.
As part of Bupa’s initiative to promote wildlife living in its care home grounds, staff and residents at Elstree Lawns Nursing Home, in Barnet Lane, held a week of activities.
These included bird watching, making feeders and getting up close and personal with various animals.
Activities co-ordinator Linda Byrne said: “The week was a great success and lots of residents and staff took part.
“We closed our week on the Friday inviting animals to our home for a show and tell. We had a mix of animals including an albino hedgehog, a husky puppy, an owl, a snake and a few others.
“The residents were encouraged to hold and pet them. They had a great time and there were a lot of cuddles.”
The wildlife week was held from September 26 to October 2.
