A MAN and woman have been jailed after they had sex in front of young children in a Borehamwood park.
James Waugh, of Manor Way, and Penny Tully, of Lingfield, in Surrey, were found guilty at St Albans Magistrates Court on Friday, October 7.
The pair were arrested by police after they were caught in Ripon Park, between Ripon Way and Arundel Way, on April 9, 2011, at around 5.30pm.
They were charged with outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner.
They received prison terms because the sexual act was performed while children and teenagers played in the park.
Waugh was handed a 20-week prison sentence.
The 39-year-old, who has a previous conviction for a sexual offence, was also given a five-year prevention order, which bans him from unsupervised contact with children under 16.
Tully, 32, received a 16-week sentence, however she has been released on conditional bail to appeal the decision.
