THREE men are being sought by Police in connection with a number of ATM frauds committed across the borough of Barnet.

Images captured around the time an ATM fraud was committed in September at a Santander Bank in Mill Hill are being circulated in hopes of public help in identifying the suspects.

Detective Constable Daniel Candler said ATM fraud was becoming a frequent occurrence in Barnet and warned members of the public to be vigilant when withdrawing money.

"If you get approached at the ATM or when you put the card in, if there is too much resistance and it is difficult, cancel your transaction."

DC Candler said there were a number of ways that the ATM frauds are committed.

A common tool used is a Lebanese Loop Machine, which clones the card and the pin using a device inserted into the ATM.

"They're quite sophisticated pieces of kit, but you can see that it doesn't look right ... they often put a false facia on it."

Devices can also be placed on the ATM to clock PIN codes before the card is stolen from the victim.

DC Candler said people should be careful to select PIN codes that are not obvious and avoid using birth dates or phone numbers.

"The banks are aware of it as well and they do support us in our prosecutions."

On September 15, in Mill Hill Broadway, a woman attempted to withdraw monies from account, when she was approached by suspects.

They fraudulently obtained her pin and card and used it to withdraw money.

Anyone who recognises these men can phone Daniel Candler in the Barnet Beat Crimes on Tel 101 or if you do not wish to give your name phone CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111
