MUSIC students performed “just like professionals” at a special gig in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust last Saturday.
Seventy members of Al Pascal Music School raised around £2,000 for the charity as they belted out a mix of hip hop, rock, blues and soul in front of more than 300 people at All Saints Arts Centre in Oakleigh Road North, Whetstone.
Director of the school, Alex Paschali said: “They put so much work into it and they were brilliant. I’m immensely happy and proud.
“It’s overwhelming because we’ve been teaching them for such a long time. Some of them have been with me for ten years and I’m training some of them to be teachers now."
As well as singing, the group plays musical instruments including the drums and guitar. Its members have used their talents to raise around £12,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust so far this year.
The Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Lisa Rutter was amongst Saturday’s audience. She said: “To see so much talent on that stage was absolutely amazing – they performed just like professionals. Alex Paschali’s work is full of passion and he inspires all the young people. It was absolutely fantastic.”
