Power has been returned to all of the 314 buildings in Barnet which were without power this morning.
Power went off in the Cranbourne Gardens, Bridge Lane, Hallswelle Road area off Finchley Road at 2.53am.
The power was returned in stages with the last people having their power restored at 10.40am.
Joanna, a resident of Hallswelle Road, said: “It was bad because our alarm kept going off and there was nothing we could do because we had no power.
“It’s been bitterly cold and so we were worried about our elderly neighbours.”
Mr Mockton, 83, also of Hallswelle Road, said: “It was horribly cold and the kettle wouldn’t work but we are lucky as we have gas so could still make a cup of tea.
“I had to put on lots of extra clothes until it warmed up.”
In a statement UK Power Network said: “We appreciate how difficult it is to be without electricity, particularly in this current cold spell, and apologise to all those affected.”
