A classical music quartet hopes to give the campaign against a huge new waste plant a boost in a fundraising concert this weekend.
The Galitzin Quartet, which includes brothers and former Rhodes Avenue Primary School pupils Joe and Ken Ichinose, will perform at St Andrew’s Church in Alexandra Park Road, Muswell Hill, on Sunday afternoon.
The concert is to raise money for the Pinkham Way Alliance, a campaign group which opposes the North London Waste Authority's plans to build a major new plant on the side of the North Circular in Pinkham Way.
The group is fundraising in anticipation of a drawn-out legal battle against the plant that they say will bring traffic congestion, environmental damage, and pollution.
Member Sakina Chenot said: “We want as many people as possible to come along to the concert to enjoy the fabulous music and show their support for our cause.”
Tickets for the 4pm concert cost £10 for adults and £5 for children and can be bought on the door.
