Staff and students paid homage to females all over the world as part International Women’s Day today.
Barnet and Southgate College hosted a celebratory event at its English Speakers of Other Languages Centre where business women and charity leaders spoke about their roles in the community.
A raffle, bric-a-brac sale, cake competition, beauty treatments and food stalls also helped raise more than £380 for Breast Cancer Care, which will be matched by Barclays Bank in Edmonton.
Barnet and Southgate Principal, David Byrne said: “International Women's Day helps empower women across the world and Barnet and Southgate College was proud to be part of the celebrations with its fun-filled, informative event. It was a great opportunity for students and staff from a number of departments to come together with representatives from the local community.”
