A man was stabbed in the middle of a busy Hendon shopping parade this afternoon.
The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was assaulted in Central Circus, opposite Vivian Avenue, near Domino's Pizza, at 4.15pm.
Paramedics said the man was conscious as he was rushed to hospital but were unable to provide further details on his condition.
Police cordoned off the area and armed officers have remained guarding the scene.
Two Metropolitan Police riot vans and at least four patrol cars are also in attendance, along with an emergency services helicopter.
Officers sealed off the area surrounding the shop, as well as the entrance to Alderton Crescent, which is further along the busy main road.
One eye-witness said: “I’m speechless, this is the first time I’ve seen anything like this. I’m really surprised, I go past here every day - it is not the sort of thing you would expect to see.”
