Next week Barnet and Southgate College will be raising awareness of Adult Learners’ Week with a series of roadshows.
The national week of events aims to celebrate and promote the benefits of learning, and to encourage adults to continue education.
On Monday, from 10am until 4pm the roadshow will be at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, at the same time on Tuesday it will be at North Finchley Library, and on Friday it will be at the Broadwalk Shopping Centre in Edgware.
Debbie Grimmond, 46, who lives on the Grahame Park Estate, is currently studying for a catering qualification at Barnet and Southgate College.
She said: “Being a student has been ideal as it has had to work around me bringing up six children and it has also helped me encourage two of my children to enroll at the college also.
“I urge anyone who thinks they may be too old or are unsure of what to do next to go along to one of the roadshows and discuss their opportunities.”
