Ceramic artwork created by London Academy students is to be displayed in central London.

On Saturday the work of 17 students from Year 9 to Year 13 will be displayed at The Granary building in the Kings Cross campus of St Martin’s College, University of the Arts.

In the spring of 2011 the London Academy art and design department arranged for ceramic artist, Matilda Moreton, to work with students to help raise the profile of ceramics.

As part of the project A Level students went to Clay Lane, near their Spur Road school, where they dug natural clay which they then used in ceramic artwork.

Since then London Academy’s art and design department has made ceramics an important part of their courses.
