Jewish Child's Day is encouraging Barnet's Jewish children to help create a Diamond Jubilee book to present to the Queen
Jewish children are invited to sign a commemorative book which will be presented to the Queen as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
In tribute to Her Majesty, Finchley-based charity Jewish Child’s Day is preparing the book which will be inscribed with the names and goodwill messages of thousands of schoolchildren.
Children must make a minimum donation of £5, which will go towards helping Jewish children in need.
Melanie Klass, executive director of the charity, said: “As the Jewish community it is important to recognise the Queen for everything she has done for this country and to demonstratively show the support she has specifically from our younger members.
“On the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee we also hope that this commemorative book will prove to be a wonderful example of the Jewish Child’s Day ethos with Jewish children actively helping those less fortunate than themselves.”
