New Barnet building collapse leaves workmen in t-rubble

Embarrassed builders found themselves in a spot of trouble this morning when part of the building they were working on collapsed.

The police and fire service were called to Gloucester Road, in New Barnet, at 10.30am when the top floor of a house collapsed.

The house was undergoing building work and it is rumoured that the collapse happened after a supporting wall was knocked down.

No one was injured in the incident but engineers have been called to check it is safe.
