Golders Green bands perform at Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant
2:30pm Sunday 3rd June 2012 in News
By Natalie O'Neill
Pipe and drumming bands from Golders Green are performing at the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant today.
Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band and Shree Muktajeevan Dhol Academy are entertaining the crowds that have gathered to see hundreds of boats pass down the River Thames as part of the Queen’s Diamond jubilee celebrations.
The bands, which are part of the Shree Swaminarayan Temple, in Finchley Road, are playing a mixture of traditional Indian melodies, Scottish tunes and Bollywood anthems on Scottish bagpipes and percussion.
They were specially chosen to perform on one of the ten Music Herald Barges.
