Awards celebrate partnership between Barnet's schools and businesses

An award ceremony is being held to recognise the contribution of Barnet’s businesses to work-related learning in schools and colleges.

On the evening of June 20 Barnet Education Business Partnership, a charity which aims to improve students’ understanding of the world of work, will hold the ceremony at Middlesex University’s Hendon Campus in The Burroughs.

The event will involve an address by Richard Cornelius, leader of Barnet Council, the presentation of awards, and then a drinks reception with live jazz music.

There will be awards for the best contributors from the public and private sectors, the best work experience employer, the best work experience coordinator and for volunteer of the year.

The purpose of the event is to celebrate the partnership between schools and businesses as well as to allow an opportunity for further networking to improve the ties between the education and business sectors.

The event will be attended by MPs, councillors, business representatives, teachers and pupils.
