Joy Hurkoo, 40
A vulnerable man who disappeared for a week has been found “safe and well” at Chiswick Bus garage.
Forty-year-old Joy Hurkoo, who has learning disabilities and is unable to feed himself, went missing following a shopping trip to Asda in Southgate on Wednesday, June 27.
Concerns grew for the avid bus traveller of Weirdale Avenue, Barnet, who was last seen at 8pm in the HMV store at Westfield Shopping Centre in White City.
He was eventually spotted by a Transport for London police officer yesterday at 6.15am at Chiswick Bus garage.
DS Paul Speer of Barnet Missing Person Unit said:"Joy is safe and well, but had obviously not been eating or dinking enough and we are relieved to have located him before he came to any permanent harm.
“His family are obviously delighted that he has been found. I would like to personally thank the public who helped spread news of Joy being missing through social media.
"I would also like to thank our local press who have been very supportive of the police enquiry and have consistently helped us to bring this to the public's attention."
