John Lewis staff get active for Noah's Ark Children's Hospice
Shop assistants ran, walked, rowed and cycled 2012 kilometres to raise cash for a Barnet children’s charity yesterday.
Staff at John Lewis in Brent Cross Shopping Centre took turns to complete the challenge on gym equipment as part of the store’s Challenge 2012 programme.
So far 400 John Lewis staff members have been getting fit while actively raising cash for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, completed skydives, sponsored walks and charity football matches.
Amanda Timothy, community liaison coordinator at John Lewis Brent Cross, said: “Our whole approach at John Lewis is about supporting our local community and getting our staff involved as much as possible.
“The Challenge 2012 event has been a great opportunity to get fit, have fun and raise money for a worthwhile cause.”
Noah’s Ark supports life-limited and life-threatened children and their families.
Chris Harbour, individual giving and challenge events manager at Noah’s Ark Hospice, said: "It's really great to see the whole team pulling together and getting behind us. It's very humbling to see, and much appreciated."
