A group of students will have their Olympic themed artwork displayed on top of bus stops across London.
Middlesex University students have designed ten-second animations that will be shown on black and red LED screens from Sunday, August 15 as part of the Olympic celebrations.
All the pieces of digital artwork have been designed around the theme of the Olympic truce. In ancient times all competing countries put down their arms and signed up to a truce, allowing competitors to travel to Athens in peace.
Animation student, Pamelyn Chew, 23, from Colindale said: “Artists have a role in making the public think about important issues, so I hope our work will inspire unity in loving one another and promote peace in society.
“I’m really excited about seeing my work on display, especially with the added exposure of tourists in the capital for the games, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity I couldn't miss.”
The installations will feature across 20 London boroughs, including three bus stops in Barnet. They will remain there until after the Paralympics in September.
