MP looks for constituent's views on 100 hour pharmacy proposals
Hendon MP, Matthew Offord, is asking people to send him their views on proposals for a 100 hour pharmacy in Burnt Oak.
Mr Offord is keen to discover how his constituents feel about the proposals so that he can best represent their views.
Oak Lodge Medical Centre in Burnt Oak Broadway has applied to open a 100 hour pharmacy; a pharmacy which would be open for 100 hours a week.
Mr Offord believes that some people will support the proposals as the longer opening hours could be more convenient.
However, the MP believes that other people will be against the plan as it could lead to the closure of smaller pharmacies on Watling Avenue, Burnt Oak Broadway, Deansbrook Road and Station Road.
Mr Offord believes that this could result in the loss of local jobs and more vacant shops.
Finally, the MP is concerned that, if it were opened, the new pharmacy could have an impact on security in the area as it could be given permission to dispense drugs such as methadone, which is used by heroin addicts, and to be a needle exchange facility.
To share your views with Mr Offord, write to him at the House of Commons, Westminster, London, SW1A 0AA or complete the questionnaire on his website.
