Woman in a critical condition following stabbing in Barnet

A 48-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital following a stabbing in Barnet last night.

Police were called to Lancaster Road at 7.15pm yesterday where they found the woman suffering multiple stab wounds to the torso.

She was taken to a west London hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 65-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in custody at a north London police station.
