A man from Hendon who used a stun gun on a woman has been jailed for nine years.

Daniel Lungu, 26, of Barford Close, stunned the 29-year-old victim in the neck and head as she was leaving a block of flats in Chamberlayne Avenue, Wembley at 8.30am on March 15.

Lungu grabbed hold of her by her clothing and used the stun gun about four times until she was knocked to the floor.

A neighbour heard her scream and came out of his flat and confronted Lungu with two gold clubs.
Another male helped chase Lungu on foot through the estate and onto East Lane where police stopped the suspect.

Officers arrested Lungu for attempted robbery, grievous bodily harm and possessing a prohibited weapon and was charged the following day.

He was found guilty at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday, September 4 and was sentenced to nine years imprisonment.

Detective Constable Paul Sumner said: “Those contemplating committing these sorts of offences on our borough must expect that the full weight of the law will be brought to bear against them through the judicial system. The judge commended both men that intervened and help officers arrest the suspect.”
