Ninety-six Barnet children are without school places

Ninety-six primary school children in Barnet remain without school places as the new term starts.
All Reception class children whose parents applied for a school place by January’s deadline have been offered a place, Barnet Council has confirmed.
However, places still need to be found for 56 children whose parents did not apply on time, and for a further 40 children whose parents turned down the place they were originally offered.
It is expected that 30 additional Reception places will be created within the next week.
