Arrest in Friern Barnet murder investigation after man assaulted in Larch Close

Detectives investigating the death of a man who was assaulted in a Friern Barnet flat on Wednesday have made an arrest.
Police were called to Larch Close at 11.20pm where the victim, believed to be aged 39, was found in the top floor apartment of a block of flats.
He was taken by ambulance to Whittington Hospital in central London but later died at 3.50am.
A man was arrested on Thursday afternoon and he remains in police custody.
A post mortem was carried out on the victim on Thursday, though police are awaiting further tests to establish a cause of death.
The man has not been formally identified and his next of kin are yet to be informed.
