Student makes finals of fashion design competition
A Church End teenager will be going head to head with other young designers in the final of a fashion competition on September 18.
Ezoe Robinson, an A-level student at Ashmole Academy in Cecil Road, Southgate, is taking part in the 2012 Fashion Awareness Direct Junior Award finals.
She, along with her rivals, will present garments inspired by their vision of what it means to be British at the Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden.
From these presentations a panel of judges will pick a winner who will secure a two week work placement with George clothing at Asda.
As part of the competition Miss Robinson has taken part in workshops and an intensive summer school.
It was here that the budding designers put together their collection for the finals.
Miss Robinson, of Moat Crescent, said: “Being selected for the final feels amazing.
“It makes me feel really happy that industry professionals liked and saw potential in my designs and it makes me more motivated to continue working towards a career in fashion.”
Fashion Awareness Direct is a charity which helps young designers make their way in the fashion industry.
