Firefighters were called in when a calamitous six-year-old got a bucket stuck on his head at school in Potters Bar this afternoon.

The little terror managed get the handle of the yellow metal play bucket wedged under his chin in the playground at Ladbrooke JMI School, in Watkins Rise.

Staff were unable to prize it from the boy’s head and were forced to call in firefighters from the Mutton Lane station at 1.10pm.

One crew was able to cut the handle and free the boy, who was upset but uninjured after the unfortunate episode.

A representative from Potters Bar Fire Station said: “He was very distressed at first at the thought of it being stuck on his head for a long time but otherwise he was fine.

“It was a bit of a strange one – not your normal everyday call out, bless him.”
