London Assembly Economy Committee members to visit North Finchley

Members of the London Assembly will visit North Finchley on Thursday to research how best to improve the fortunes of the capital’s high streets.

The Assembly’s Economy Committee will visit the High Road at 11.30am to talk to traders, businesses and shoppers about the issues facing their high street.

The Economy Committee is to hold its first public meeting about measures to support struggling high streets tomorrow afternoon.

At this meeting members of the public will have the chance to share their experiences of the problems on local high streets.

This meeting will lead onto the visit to North Finchley which will be followed by a similar trip to Camden Town at 2pm.

Maybe they could ask the traders why someone keeps damaging the signs stopping us parking and shopping.

Sadly the GLA have no powers over Barnet Council.

They can stamp and shout, but our right wing Darwinian councillors will not listen and couldn't care less - for them the High Streets are resources to be asset stripped like the rest of the borough.
