The Royal Air Force Museum is appealing for 1950s, 60s and 70s Airfix models to complete a new exhibition it is putting together.
The Colindale museum will be launching an exhibition celebrating Airfix next summer.
It will chart the history of the company by displaying original Box Art as well as Airfix’s most popular models from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
To fill some gaps in its collection the museum is asking members of the public who have any original paintings which were produced as artwork for packaging to contact the museum.
The Aerodrome Road attraction is also keen to hear from anyone who has models from the 1950s, 60s and 70s that are still with their original packaging.
If anyone would like to offer to lend their models to be displayed in this exhibition contact Andrew Cormack on 020 8205 2266 or fine-arts@rafmuseum.org
This Airfix exhibition is scheduled to open in June 2013 and will be free to visit.
