Drivers can get a hose down at Potters Bar fire station this afternoon when crews open the gates for a charity car wash.

The Mutton Lane station will be open between 10am and 3pm to raise some cash for The Firefighters’ Charity, which provides help and support for injured firefighters.

The fundraiser takes place up to four times a year, though this summer’s event had to be cancelled because of a hose pipe ban.

Charity representative at the station Rob Horsfield said: "We're really looking forward to raising lots of money for such a good cause."
