Elderly falls awareness day this week in East Barnet

Elderly people will be given advice on how to avoid falls in their home at an open exhibition on Thursday.

Home Instead Senior Care and Age UK are hosting the information day at the Friend in Need Community Centre in Crescent Road, East Barnet.

The event includes guest speakers covering topics such as diet, exercise, bone health and keeping your house warm.

Visitors will be able to visit a range of stalls, with information from organisations across the borough including Age UK and the Finchley Memorial Hospital Falls Clinic.

In addition, there will also be Tai Chi, Traditional Indian Dance, Gentle Exercise and Zumba demonstrations, given by local dance and exercise groups.

Lunch will also be served at the free event, which begins at 10.30am.
